I've been living in Haifa for almost a year and you describe it — and you know it — far better than I do. I keep thinking, I'm a painter, I should move to Tel Aviv, that's where the scene is, but Haifa is so beautiful, so walkable, so human in scale. I just like it here.
Before I made Aliyah, my advisor at the Jewish Agency in New York asked me what city I was going to move to. I said, "Haifa." He said, "Haifa's not a city."
Haifa is very much a city, but it's an intimate city.
